2012 Student Short Film Challenge

To celebrate 2011 being the International Year of Sustainable Energy for All, SCINEMA is holding a competitive student film competition for Australian school students. We challenge you to make a short film, under 5 minutes, with an 'energy' theme. Films will be judged according to age groups (Primary School, Secondary School, Tertiary Institutions) and further prizes will be awarded for humour, technical merit, and the ability to explain complex concepts. Deadline 13 May 2012.

COPYRIGHT ISSUES: For young filmmakers the many issues around permissions and clearances are new and challenging. Did you know you need permission to film people, or that if you use your favourite song in your film you need to ask that band or their record company for permission?
