The Amazing World of Mini-Beasts

'The Amazing World of Mini-Beasts' Is a film that unveils the wonders of wildlife when we step out of the back door and into the garden. Taking a macro look at sex and relationships, violence, habitat, defence and camouflage, the lives of miniature creatures are exposed in fin detail. This film utilizes Jim's award winning camera lens, a lens that is now used in nearly every big Hollywood production. The lens system is unique in that it has extreme deep focus, allowing all parts of the image to stay in focus no matter what their depth.

Rob and Deane will take you on a retro tour with favourite clips and stories from over a decade of screening. Come dressed as your favourite Curiosity Show character and you can win one of THE original autographed skivvies. Eat your heart out Wiggles!

Late Shows, Cult & Experimental films

Baraka

This film is not only a worthy successor to Koyaanisqatsi (Fricke's 1983 instalment concerning similar material, only taking place entirely within the U.S.) but is perhaps Ron Fricke's finest film. That's not an easy thing for someone who thought that Koyaanisqatsi was one of the most visually breathtaking films ever made but Baraka expands its territory to include the entire globe, with a combination of images and music that inspires thoughts as to what exactly the filmmakers had in mind, much like 2001, in invites speculation as to the meaning of its intent.

EVERYBODY $7 for late night screenings!
